Terms of use

Conditions for using Possible Voice: your account, voice rooms, room music, the optional subscription and the rules that apply.

Last updated: October 26, 2026

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Possible Voice you agree to these Terms, the Community guidelines and the Privacy policy. If you use room music, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (section 4A).

If you do not agree, do not use the app. When these documents change materially, the app will ask you to accept the new version.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old. If the law of your country requires a higher age to use the service or to consent to the processing of your data (in the European Economic Area, up to 16 depending on the country), you need to be that age or have permission from your parent or legal guardian. You may not use the service if we have previously suspended your account.

3. Your account

  • You sign in with Google, with Apple (on iPhone only) or with an email address and password, through Google's Firebase Authentication. Keep your account and password secure, and verify your email address when the app asks. Accounts with an unverified email can read, but cannot create rooms, messages or requests.
  • You receive a 10-digit Possible Voice ID that other people can use to find you. You cannot choose it. You may choose an optional username; it is a display name, not a way to sign in.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account. An account is for one person; do not share it.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the app (see Delete your account). Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription (section 7).

4. The service

Possible Voice offers live voice rooms: public rooms, your friends' rooms and private groups. It also offers a friends list, direct messages between friends, text chat in rooms, room music (section 4A) and, on Android, live screen sharing within a room.

  • Voice and screen sharing are live only: we do not record or store them. Room chat is deleted when the call ends.
  • Room music audio never passes through our servers or the voice connection: each phone plays the video with the official YouTube player. Possible Voice never downloads, records or rebroadcasts music or video.
  • In rooms, everyone can speak with their microphone, under the same conditions. Nobody has powers over anyone else in the room, including the person who created it. The only things just the person who created the room can do are rename it (the previous invite link stops working) and choose the background the whole room sees; each person can see a background of their own choosing instead. There is currently no limit on how many people can speak at the same time. If we ever set one because of server capacity, it will be the same for everyone, including the person who created the room, and anyone who arrives when it is reached will join as a listener and wait for their turn in order of arrival.
  • No one in a room has moderation powers over another person (section 6).
  • Features are the same for everyone. The optional subscription only removes ads (section 7).
  • Web app (beta). You can also use Possible Voice from your browser with the beta web app, with the same account and these same Terms. The web app has no ads and no purchases (the subscription, coins and frames are bought in the app), and some app features may be missing, such as room music, sharing your screen or signing in with Google or Apple. Because it is a beta, it may change, fail or stop being available.
  • We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If a change affects you materially, we will tell you in the app or on our website with reasonable notice, unless we must act sooner for legal, security or urgent technical reasons.
  • The service is for personal, non-commercial and lawful use only.

4A. Room music and YouTube

  • YouTube API Services. Room music uses YouTube API Services: search and video information come from the YouTube Data API through our servers, and videos play in the official YouTube embedded player on your device. By using room music (including search and the player) you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and the YouTube API Services Terms of Service. What YouTube receives from your device is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
  • How it works. Anyone in a room can put a YouTube video on for the room, and several videos can play at the same time, up to a limit set by Possible Voice. Everyone in the room hears each video together, on their own phone and at the same moment.
  • Explore YouTube. In the Android and iPhone app, the music panel can open YouTube's official mobile website inside the app, as a guest, to choose videos. It opens only YouTube pages: no sign-in, no YouTube Music and no other websites. What you put on in the room from there plays in YouTube's official player, like any other video; if you watch a video on that website, the room's music is muted on your phone while it plays. That website belongs to YouTube and is governed by its Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Who controls playback. Only the person who put a video on can pause, resume, move or stop it, including from the "Recent" list. Nobody else can remove another person's music, not even the person who created the room. Each person can lower or mute a source only on their own phone, or listen privately with "Only me", which nobody else hears.
  • Automatic playback. If you accept automatic playback, room music may start on its own on your phone. You can turn this off in Settings.
  • What we do not offer. Videos whose owner does not allow them to be played outside YouTube, age-restricted videos and videos YouTube marks as "made for kids" cannot be put in a room. There are no downloads, no background playback outside the system's floating window, and no sign-in to YouTube inside the app. The app never opens the YouTube app or YouTube Music. Links shown by the player open in your browser after you confirm.
  • Your responsibility. Only put videos on that are suitable for the room and that you have the right to share. The Community guidelines and section 5 apply. Do not use room music to get around restrictions, advertising or YouTube's terms.
  • YouTube's content. Videos, titles, channels and ads shown in the player are provided by YouTube and its users, not by Possible Voice. Search may sometimes be unavailable (for example when YouTube's daily quota is used up); you can always paste a link.

5. Your content and conduct

"Your content" means your profile information, your messages, what you say in voice rooms and what you show when you share your screen.

  • You keep ownership of your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, transmit and display it only as needed to operate the service: for example, to carry your voice or shared screen to the room and to show your messages to the right people. This licence ends when you delete that content or your account, except for the copies we keep as explained in the Privacy policy.
  • You must follow the Community guidelines. You must not record, broadcast or republish other people's voices, screens or messages without their consent. Some laws require the consent of everyone involved to record a conversation; you are responsible for following the laws that apply to you.
  • No rebroadcasting of music or media. Do not play or share through your microphone or screen any music, films, series, television, live streams or other content you do not have the rights to. To listen to something together, use room music (section 4A), where each phone plays it from YouTube. Never put it through your microphone.
  • Screen sharing. Share only your own screen and only what you are allowed to show. Do not share sexual, violent or hateful content, other people's personal data, private conversations, paid or copyrighted videos, or anything that breaks the rules of the game you are playing. Close private content first: viewers see everything on your screen while you share. Nobody in a room can stop your share or prevent you from sharing: anyone who does not want to watch can close it on their own phone and report it. We can end a share by suspending the account of the person sharing or by closing the room, and we can restrict or suspend accounts that misuse this feature.
  • You must not try to access accounts, rooms or data you are not authorised to access, interfere with the service, abuse invitations or automate requests.

6. Safety and moderation

  • Anyone can report users and rooms, and can block other people from inside a room. These tools are free for everyone.
  • No one in a room has moderation powers over another person. Nobody can take away another person's microphone, stop their screen share or music, or remove or ban them. Each person can only mute or lower someone on their own phone, block them, report them or leave.
  • We may review reports and the records related to them, close a room, end a screen share, remove room music, restrict features, and temporarily or permanently suspend accounts that break these Terms or the Community guidelines, with or without notice where safety requires it. A suspension removes the person from their rooms.
  • If your account is suspended, you can ask us to review the decision by writing to us . We aim to reply within 30 days.
  • We may keep and disclose information when required by law or to protect people's safety.

7. Optional "No ads" subscription

  • What it is. An optional auto-renewing subscription, "No ads", with a monthly and an annual period. It only removes ads: voice quality, room size, groups and every other feature are the same with or without it. Without it, the app shows ads: banners on Home and in rooms, and full-screen ads when you open the app or come back to it, when you leave a room and, at most, one more every 20 minutes of use, never during a voice call (see Advertising).
  • Price. The App Store or Google Play sets the price, currency and taxes in your country and shows them before you confirm the purchase. The price the store shows when you buy is the one that applies. The base price in the United States is US$1.49 per month or US$9.99 per year. There is currently no free trial or introductory offer.
  • Billing and renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (every month or every year), and the store charges you again, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If the store changes the price, it will tell you in advance under its rules.
  • Cancelling. Cancel in your store account: on iPhone, Settings > your name > Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. You can also use "Manage subscription" in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; after that, ads may be shown again. Deleting your Possible Voice account does not cancel the subscription.
  • Refunds. Apple or Google process purchases, and they handle refunds under their own policies (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play: the order in your Google Play account). We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the store. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the law may give you a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases. For digital content and services, that right can be lost when you agree that they start immediately, under the conditions the store shows when you buy. To use it, contact Apple or Google, who process the payment.
  • Restoring. Use "Restore purchases" in the app, with the same store account, after reinstalling the app or on a new phone: it applies an active subscription and gives you back the frames you bought (section 7A). Coins are kept in your Possible Voice account and do not need restoring.

7A. Frames, backgrounds and virtual coins

  • Optional. Profile frames, room backgrounds and coins are decorative and optional: nothing that is free becomes paid. Frames and backgrounds are earned by talking in voice rooms, by choosing to watch rewarded ads, with coins or, when the store offers it, with a one-time purchase. Each one shows how to get it according to its rarity: Common ones, with a few hours of talking (each one says how many); Rare ones, with 1 ad or about 100 hours of talking; Epic ones, with 3 ads; and Legendary ones, with 5. Talk time is counted by our server, and only while you are connected to a voice room with at least one other person. Every unlock is permanent.
  • Virtual coins. Coins have no monetary value, are not money or a means of payment, cannot be exchanged for money, sold or transferred to another account, and can only be used in Possible Voice. They are not refundable, except where applicable law requires. We may correct a balance credited by mistake or through abuse, and coins are lost if you delete your account.
  • Purchases. Coin packs and one-time frame purchases sold by the store follow section 7 on price, billing and refunds.
  • Changes. We may change or withdraw frames, backgrounds and ways to get them; what you already unlocked stays yours while the feature exists.

8. Third-party services

The app relies on third parties: sign-in, hosting, real-time media, app stores, advertising, and YouTube for room music. Their terms may also apply. For room music, the YouTube Terms of Service apply (section 4A). We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access as described in section 6, or when the law requires it. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example 5, 10, 11 and 12) continue to apply after termination.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not guarantee that voice, screen sharing, room music or any other feature will work without interruptions or errors, because they depend on networks, devices, games and third-party services. We do not control what other people say, write or show, and we are not responsible for it, although we act on reports as the Community guidelines explain. Nothing in this section limits the guarantees you have under mandatory consumer law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or game progress arising from using or being unable to use the service. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to what you paid in Possible Voice (the subscription, coins and frames) in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, such as liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and they do not affect your rights as a consumer.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. If you are a consumer, you are also protected by the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live, and nothing in these Terms takes them away. Before making a claim, write to us so we can try to resolve it amicably. If it is not resolved, the courts of Costa Rica have jurisdiction, unless the law of your country allows you, as a consumer, to go to the courts where you live.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will ask you to accept the new version in the app, and the new version applies from the date we state. We will tell you in the app or on our website with reasonable notice, normally at least 15 days, unless we must apply the change sooner for legal or security reasons. If you do not accept the new version, you can stop using the service and delete your account.

14. App store terms

If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, in Apple's standard version. If the two conflict, the Apple standard agreement prevails for iOS users.

If you downloaded the app from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your use of that store.
