Delete your Possible Voice account
How to delete your Possible Voice account from the app or by asking by email, what is erased, what is kept and why.
Last updated: October 26, 2026
1. How to delete your account in the app
- Open Possible Voice and go to Profile > Settings (gear icon). At the very top, tap your name (it says "Account, ID and sign-in" underneath) to open Account.
- Tap Delete account and read the warning.
- For your security, the app asks you to confirm your sign-in (with Apple, with Google or with your password), and then deletes the account.
Deletion takes effect in Possible Voice straight away and cannot be undone. Afterwards, the app automatically tries to delete your sign-in identity from our authentication provider, Firebase Authentication.
2. If you cannot use the app
Email us from the address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my account" and, if you know it, your 10-digit Possible Voice ID. We may ask you to confirm details about your account before we act. We reply within 30 days.
3. Before you delete
- Cancel your subscription in the App Store or Google Play first. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription, and we cannot cancel it for you. On iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- If you created a room, it closes only when nobody else is left in it; otherwise it stays open for the people still in it. Groups you belong to stay open for their other members.
4. What happens when you delete
| Your data | What we do |
|---|---|
| Sign-in identity | Your sessions are revoked and we try to delete your sign-in identity (Google, Apple or email and password) in Firebase Authentication, automatically. If you signed in with Apple, we also try to have Apple revoke Possible Voice's access to your Apple account. If one of these requests fails, the rest of the deletion still goes ahead |
| Erased | |
| Display name, username, profile photo, bio and status | The name is replaced with "Deleted user". The username, profile photo, bio and status are erased |
| Possible Voice ID | Replaced with a new random number, so your old ID no longer finds anyone |
| Friends and friend requests | Erased |
| People you blocked | The blocks you made are erased. Blocks other people made against you remain in place |
| Messages you sent | The text is erased. In the conversation, the message appears as deleted |
| Rooms you are in | You leave them straight away. If you were sharing your screen, the share stops. Your room music stops too |
| Groups you are in | You leave them. A group closes when its last member leaves |
| Rooms you created | Closed only when nobody else is in them; otherwise they stay open for the people still in them |
| Invite links you created | Revoked |
| Devices and notification tokens | Erased |
| Coins, frames and backgrounds | Your coin balance, the frames and backgrounds you had, the frame you wore and the background you chose to see are erased. They are not refunded or moved to another account |
| Rewarded ads and talk time | The record of each rewarded ad (Google's transaction identifier and ad unit) and your talk time in rooms are erased |
| Voice and screen sharing | Nothing to erase: they are never recorded |
| Room chat | Already deleted automatically when each call ended |
| Room music | Your "Recent" entries are erased from every room. Nothing you were playing stays in a room |
| Ad consent choice | Stored only on your device, in Google's consent tool, and removed when you uninstall the app |
5. What we keep, and why
| What is kept | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymised account record: internal ID, Firebase user ID, status "deleted", dates, and the versions of the terms you accepted | To keep moderation and audit records consistent | As long as needed, and no more than 24 months after deletion. This deletion is not automatic yet: we do it when we review the records |
| Reports, moderation actions and audit records related to the account, including the copy of your profile photo kept with a report about you | Safety, legal claims and requests from authorities | As long as needed, and no more than 24 months after the report is closed, unless the law or an ongoing claim requires keeping them longer. This deletion is not automatic yet: we do it when we review the records |
| Purchase and subscription records, including the coin movements of the packs you bought and of their refunds | Tax and accounting obligations, and reconciliation with the store | As long as applicable tax and accounting obligations require. They are not deleted automatically yet |
| Server logs | Security | They have a maximum size; when it is reached, the oldest entries are deleted automatically. There is no fixed period in days |
| Backups | Erased data can remain in backups until they expire | A daily copy of the database; deleted automatically after 14 days on the server and after 30 days for the encrypted copy kept off the server |
Server logs and backups are deleted automatically. The other records in this table are not deleted automatically yet: we review them and, when their period ends or they are no longer needed, we delete them or fully anonymise them.
