Community guidelines
Rules for getting along in Possible Voice rooms: voice, screen sharing, chat, messages, profiles and room names.
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Possible Voice is for playing and talking with your group. These guidelines apply to voice, screen sharing, room chat, direct messages, profiles (names, usernames, bios and status) and room names.
1. The rules
Rules 1 to 9 match the categories in the app's report form. If something does not fit, report it as "Something else", including under rule 10.
- No harassment. Do not insult, bully or target someone, do not follow a person between rooms after they have blocked you, and do not encourage others to do so.
- No hate or abusive behaviour. No attacks or slurs based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, disability, serious illness or age.
- No threats or violence. No threats, glorification of violence or encouragement of self-harm. If you or someone you know is in danger or thinking about self-harm, call your local emergency number (for example, 911 in Costa Rica and the United States, where 988 is also available, or 112 in the European Union) or find a free helpline at findahelpline.com.
- No sexual content. No sexual audio, messages or profiles, and no sexual approaches to people who have not clearly agreed. Never with minors.
- Child safety comes first. No content or contact that sexualises, grooms or endangers minors. We report child sexual exploitation to the authorities. In Costa Rica we report it to the Judicial Investigation Agency (Organismo de Investigación Judicial, OIJ) and, depending on the case, also to the authorities of the relevant country.
- No spam or scams. No flooding chat, no repeated unwanted invitations or friend requests, and no advertising, phishing links, or selling accounts, items or services.
- No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another person, a streamer, a brand or Possible Voice staff. Room names that are exactly "admin", "support", "official" or "moderator" are not allowed.
- No doxxing or privacy violations. Do not share other people's personal information (real name, address, phone number, school, photos), and do not record or republish others' voices or messages without consent.
- Other harmful behaviour. This includes illegal activity, services for cheating, and deliberately disrupting rooms, for example by blasting loud noise or music into the microphone.
- No rebroadcasting. Do not play or share through your microphone or screen any music, films, television, live streams or other content you do not have the rights to. Room music is for the whole room: what you put on is heard by everyone there, and only you can pause, move or stop your source. Each person can lower or mute it only on their own phone. Never put music through your microphone.
2. Screen sharing
Screen sharing is for showing your game to your room. When you share:
- Share only your own screen, and only what you are allowed to show. Never sexual, violent, hateful or shocking content.
- Do not share paid or copyrighted video, such as films, series, sport or other people's streams.
- Do not show other people's personal information, private chats, contact lists or photos. Do not share a screen that shows someone else without their consent.
- Do not use it to cheat, to show exploits that break a game's rules, or to advertise.
- Close private apps and turn on Do Not Disturb first: viewers see everything on your screen, including notifications.
- Viewers must not record or republish someone's shared screen without their consent.
- Only one person can share at a time in each room, and that person must have a microphone in the room. Nobody in the room can stop a share. Anyone who does not want to watch can close it on their own phone and report it. We can end a share by suspending the account of the person sharing or by closing the room, and we can restrict or suspend accounts that misuse this feature.
3. Voice room etiquette
- Nobody has powers over another person in a room, not even the person who created it. You can mute or lower someone only on your own phone, block them, report them or leave.
- If you are asked to stop, stop. If a room is not for you, leave it.
- In busy rooms, mute your microphone when you are not talking.
4. Tools you can use
All of these are free for everyone.
- Block. From the person's card in the room, from a direct message or from a friend request. From then on, in every room, you no longer hear their voice, see their messages in the room chat or hear the music they play; only you notice, the rest of the room still sees and hears them. It also ends a friendship, cancels pending requests, hides each of you from the other's searches, stops direct messages, and keeps each of you out of rooms the other created. It does not remove them from a room you are both in: if needed, leave the room or report them.
- Report. A person or a room, from the room menu or the person's card. Choose a category and add details. Reports cannot be edited or withdrawn.
- Lower or mute a person's volume only for you, from their card.
- Leave any room at any time.
5. What happens if the rules are broken
| Level | Who acts | Possible action |
|---|---|---|
| Room | Possible Voice team | Close the room: everyone leaves, and its music and chat stop. End a screen share, by suspending the account sharing it or by closing the room |
| Account | Possible Voice team | Warning, or temporary or permanent suspension. The person is removed from their rooms |
| Legal | Possible Voice team | Report to the authorities where the law requires it, especially for child safety and credible threats |
We review reports and the records attached to them: who was in the room, account information and any messages that still exist. Voice and screen sharing are not recorded, so describe what happened in your report.
6. Reports and messages
- Room chat is deleted when the call ends. When a report includes a message, we keep a copy of that message with the report. Only a message you were able to see can be reported. You can report a specific message from the room chat or from a direct message.
- Reports stay open until the team reviews them, and they cannot be edited or withdrawn.
- How we act. The Possible Voice team reviews reports about content and people, and aims to act on objectionable content within 24 hours of the report. It may take no action, warn someone, close a room or suspend an account, temporarily or permanently.
- Automatic filter. Room chat messages and direct messages, room names, display names, bios and statuses go through an offensive-words filter before they are saved. If a text contains a word that is not allowed, it is not sent or saved, and the app tells you so you can change it. The filter does not catch everything: reports are still how problems reach the team.
- Appeals. If your account is suspended, you can ask us to review the decision by writing to us . We aim to reply within 30 days.
7. Standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)
Possible Voice explicitly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) anywhere in the service: voice, screen sharing, chat, direct messages, profile photos, names and bios.
- What is prohibited. Any content that shows, describes, promotes or sexualises minors; grooming (gaining a minor's trust in order to abuse them); asking for or sharing photos, videos or details of minors for sexual purposes; sextortion; and child trafficking. Also using the service to contact minors for those purposes or to move them to other apps.
- How to report in the app. From the person's card, the room menu or the specific message, tap Report and choose the "Child safety" category. Describe what happened: voice and screen sharing are not recorded. If a minor is in immediate danger, also call your country's emergency number.
- What we do. We remove the content, permanently suspend the accounts involved, keep the report information the law allows or requires us to keep, and report it to the authorities: in Costa Rica, to the Judicial Investigation Agency (Organismo de Investigación Judicial, OIJ) and, depending on the case, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the authorities of the relevant country. We cooperate with the authorities when they ask us to under the law.
- Child safety point of contact. For any child safety matter, write to us .
8. Changes
We may update these guidelines. The current version is always on this page.
