Advertising
When an ad can appear in Possible Voice, how it is chosen and how to remove ads.
Last updated: October 26, 2026
1. Where ads appear
- Banners and full-screen ads are only shown to people without the "No ads" subscription.
- The beta web app shows no ads of any kind.
- Banners: one on the Home screen and a small one in voice rooms, in a fixed space under the room's header, apart from the microphone and the other controls. Banners are always muted and do not affect the room's audio. No banner appears while the room's YouTube music is on screen.
- Full-screen ads: one each time you open the app and each time you come back to it after 30 seconds or more away; one each time you leave a voice room, once you are out of the call; and, on top of that, at most one more every 20 minutes of use, shown at the next screen change. Two never play back to back. You can always close them with Google's button, and they never appear while you are in a voice call, even with the room minimised.
- Rewarded ads, always optional: in Profile (Frames and Room backgrounds) and, inside a room, in "Your style" you can choose to watch an ad to get a profile frame or a room background (a Rare one takes 1 ad; an Epic one, 3; a Legendary one, 5) or, when available, to earn virtual coins. What you unlock is yours forever. It only plays if you tap that button, never automatically, and the subscription does not change it because you ask for it. If you close it before the end, there is no reward. If you ask for it inside a voice room, your microphone is turned off and the room's sound is muted on your phone while the ad plays; when it closes, both go back to how they were. To grant the reward, Google confirms from its servers that the ad was watched to the end (server-side verification), together with your internal Possible Voice identifier and the chosen frame or background.
- Every ad starts muted.
- Ad content is limited to content suitable for teenagers.
2. Who serves them
Ads are served by Google AdMob. The app does not use other ad networks or mediation. Possible Voice does not sell your personal data.
3. Consent
Before requesting an ad, the app uses Google's consent messaging tool. Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or where US state laws apply, it shows you the choice. You can change it in Settings > Ad privacy choices, when that option appears.
4. Personalisation depending on your phone
- Android: ads are personalised only if your consent choice allows it and, where US state laws apply, if you have not opted out. Otherwise Google serves non-personalised ads.
- iPhone and iPad: we always request non-personalised ads. We do not ask for Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission and we do not access the device's advertising identifier (IDFA).
5. What Google collects
According to its policies, Google may collect device and app information; advertising or app-instance identifiers where permitted (on Android, the advertising ID, subject to your consent and device settings); approximate location derived from your IP address; and ad interaction data, such as views and clicks. Even non-personalised ads use identifiers to limit frequency, produce aggregated reports and prevent fraud.
See the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from its partners' sites and apps.
6. How to remove them
The "No ads" subscription removes every ad the app shows on its own (the banners and the full-screen ones): with it, the app requests none. Rewarded ads stay available if you ask for them. On Android you can also change your choice in Settings > Ad privacy choices, when that option appears, or in your device's ad settings, where you can reset or delete the advertising ID.
